THE FULL STORY

To be honest, I never thought I’d do hair. I “fell into it”, some might say.

I’ve always been interested in beauty; my mom was a stylist back in the day and I used to love watching her do friend & family hair in our kitchen. I’d box-dyed my hair, my friends’ hair, and my sister’s hair dozens of times, I’d braided and curled until my fingers hurt. But as a profession? No thank you.

Equally considered was the service industry. I loved learning about my guests, memorizing names and orders, and making magic happen whenever I could; I loved making people feel special. I was good at it, but it didn’t feel like it was my “forever”.

Both of these things, beauty and service, had been sources of joy for me. I LOVED creating, and I LOVED making people feel good.

Funnily enough, it took me years to see the crossover. But once I did, I never wanted to go back.

I graduated beauty school in 2016, got my license, and took off into the hair world at top speed. Two assistantships, one lash studio, one blowout bar, and one shared hair studio later, I found Sector7 Salon, and very shortly after Obsidian Hair Studio.

Since taking my business into my own hands in 2021, I’ve worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere that delicately combines the unusual and the divine–a chair that attracts and welcomes silly little weirdos and bold funky acolytes alike.

Ever in flux, I am dedicated to continuing to learn and grow so that I can bring only the best and most elevated techniques and experiences to my clients.

And I am so incredibly happy to be able to share my hair journey with you!!
